Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) mentor Gautam Gambhir offered free sweets to journalists on the eve of the Bengali New Year or Poila Baisakh on Saturday. The heartwarming inciden took place on the eve of KKR's match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Eden Gardens. After tackling some tough questions on KKR's season so far, an ecstatic Gambhir distributed sweets to the journalists inside the press box. The former LSG mentor uploaded a video of the same on his social media handles.

Gambhir, a two-time IPL winning captain with KKR, returned to the franchise as a mentor after spending two seasons at LSG with a similar role.
Gambhir had led KKR to IPL titles in 2012 and 2014, respectively. During Gambhir's time at LSG, KKR lost all three matches at Eden Gardens to the Lucknow-based side.
Ahead of the game against LSG, Gambhir said that his time with in Lucknow does not make any difference in the game.
"It is a new day, a new start. What difference does it make that what has happened in the last two years? It really makes no difference. We start from scratch," said Gambhir.
"All of us are really looking forward to the game tomorrow. You know, it is a quality side. But we are a quality side as well," concluded.
