Bangladesh assure Pakistan of enhanced security for Asia Cup
Bangladesh Cricket Board has said that Pakistan have agreed to send their security officials for inspection on January 20 and the Asia Cup will be held as planned.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has assured the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of enhanced security measures for their national team during the Asia Cup to be held in Bangladesh in February-March 2014. The security aspects surrounding the Pakistan team's participation in the Asia Cup was discussed among representatives of Asian nations on the sidelines of the ICC meeting of full- member countries in Dubai on Thursday. BCB acting chief executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said: "We have had a positive discussion. The PCB has requested additional security measures for the Pakistan team which will be incorporated in our security plan. We have assured the PCB that their requirements will be fulfilled." Chowdhury has revealed that Pakistan have agreed to send their security officials for inspection later this month. "The PCB has also confirmed sending their representative for the security briefing scheduled in Dhaka on 20 January 2014," he said.
Earlier, PCB had said that its team will participate in the Asia Cup in Bangladesh only after getting a clearance from their government due to security concerns in the violence-hit neighbouring country.
