Kings XI Punjab renamed their team to Punjab Kings on Wednesday. On Thursday, the franchise posted a video on Twitter in which KL Rahul spoke about the change. "I felt like I like the name Kings XI but a team is lot more than just 11 players. So, it was supposed to feel like a family, feel like a unit. Just a little wouldn't harm and I am quite confident that it will bring us some good fortune this year," KL Rahul said.
Explosive West Indies batsman Chris Gayle also agreed with his skipper and said that sometimes it is good to have a change.
Punjab finished sixth on the points table in last year's Indian Premier League (IPL).
KL Rahul was exceptional with the bat, winning the orange cap after scoring 670 runs from 14 IPL games.
Rahul hit one century and five half-centuries in the franchise-based tournament.

Punjab released the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Jimmy Neesham and Sheldon Cottrell along with six other players ahead of the auction.
Punjab have five overseas slots to fill and they can rope in a total of nine players at the auction.
