Srinivasan on sticky wicket, feels cricket fraternity

He may have reiterated that he won't step down as chief of Board of Control for Cricket in India. In the light of the recent spot-fixing controversy that has now engulfed his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan calls and clamour for his ouster though has gained momentum. Here is what people who want him out have said:

Lalit Modi (former IPL chairman): Mr Srinivasan should immediately resign, if not resign he should be thrown out, immediately. And all those who have allowed him to do what he has done, they have to take moral responsibility. Not only moral responsibility, their co-conspirators also need to resign too. (Read)

Subrata Roy (Sahara chief): One should be at least civil, be courteous. I called him (Srinivasan) numerous time, even wrote to him but he didn't bother to reply. This is not the way to promote a sport. (He was referring to his efforts of finding a solution to the BCCI-Sahara impasse. Read more here)

Jitendra Singh (Sports Minister): My ministry has no control over BCCI or IPL but we need to think about the bigger picture. Rather than pointing fingers at individuals we need to think of a long-term plan. Moral responsibility lies with the BCCI officials.

DP Tripathi, (NCP spokesperson, quoted as saying by news agencies): If a franchise is involved in betting, its contract should immediately be scrapped. If a owner is involved in betting, it's wrong.
