A mouth-watering battle between Chris Gayle and Kagiso Rabada lurks as West Indies seek a majestic knock from the Jamaican to storm into the ICC World T20 2016. Gayle smashed a 48-ball century against England but did not bat against Sri Lanka due to a left hamstring niggle.
Interestingly, Gayle's first T20 international came against South Africa in September 2007 and the burly opener will love to give his team another quick start.
Proteas captain, Faf du Plessis, says the vast change in conditions from the batting-friendly Wankhede Stadium to the sluggish VCA Stadium in Nagpur will require a different mindset to make the transition, as they prepare for a powerful onslaught from the men from the Caribbean who are unbeaten in the World T20.
South Africa will be without JP Duminy, whose left-arm spin could be missed. Aaron Phangiso could make his first international appearance in five months. Chris Morris or David Wiese should make way for the bowler whose action came under scrutiny recently.
