Live Score: India vs Australia updates
The Man of the Match goes to Ryan Harris for his all-round performance. He scored a good fifty in the first innings along with the 6 wickets in the match. Well, that's all from our side. The next and the final match is on the 6th of January. Do join us then. Goodbye and take care!
Steven Smith says it was a tough 5-day game for them. They started well but dropped a few catches in the outfield. That was the only thing they need to improve on. With one more game left in the series, he is looking forward to win the Sydney Test and seal the series 3-0.
MS Dhoni is quite happy with the draw. He says that the bowlers did a good job. India have found ways to trouble themselves. A few loose shots and they give away wickets to the opposition. The wicket was a bit low on the last day but the batsmen managed to play it out. It was a fantastic display of batting between Kohli and Rahane. Overall, he is happy with the draw.
The Australian batsmen batted well in both the innings as well. It was a very good century by Smith in the first innings which helped them to reach the 500-run mark. In all it was a good team performance. The debutants from both the teams couldn't do anything significant. It will be interesting to see whether they'll play in the next match or not. With this draw, Australia regain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with a Test match to be played in Sydney.
So that brings an end to a great match! It ends in a draw after 5 thrilling days of fine Test cricket. Both the teams played some excellent cricket and it was brilliant batting from them in their respective first innings. A rain interruption on the fourth and fifth day slowed down the pace of the game. India almost made a complete mess of it today. Lost three early wickets in the fourth innings while chasing down the target, but Kohli and Rahane played well and steadied the nerves in the dressing room.
Floated on the pads, flicked to the leg side for three runs. Both the captains shake hands with four overs left! It's a DRAW!
