That's it from us then. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. Do join us for the third Test on Boxing Day, 26th December at the 'G. Until then, goodbye and take care!
Man of the Match - Steven Smith - He is extremely satisfied with the way his boys have played cricket. Admits the first day was pretty tough as there were couple of injuries but credits the bowlers for coming back so well. Praises Hazlewood as he was good on debut and says he's an outstanding bowler. Calls Johnson as Mr. Reliable as the way Johnson came and took the bowlers on was really crucial for them. Admits it's tough playing against India and they played well in the last four days. He didn't imagine captaining Australia, scoring century and winning the Test match. Says he will relax for a couple of days and will enjoy the Christmas.
MS Dhoni - He says it's about what actually happens on the field. Says it was lack of application in the dressing room whether Shikhar will bat or Virat will bat. Adds they could have done better. They were having a bat in the nets when Dhawan got injured and by the time Dhawan came back from the nets, he was in pain. They decided just minutes ago that Virat will go out to bat and adds it was one of the areas they could have handed well. Admits Mitchell (Johnson) batted really well. Says what really happens is the bowler gets a bit tired and the ball gets a bit soft and there were 10-15 catches which went behind the fielders and that was the crucial part. He is pretty happy how they have played and with the way the bowlers have shaped up. Says they're not sure what should be the ideal line-up. Either the batsmen should start scoring or the bowlers should start picking wickets and then they'll come to know. He is waiting to play at the MCG and adds it will be an exciting part for the youngsters to be a part of the great Test in front of a huge crowd.
India will have some positives too from this Test. Murali Vijay scored a brilliant ton in the first innings and Rahane with a fine 81. Australia showed they were the better team as they replied with a better first innings total and bowled India out for a low score in their second innings. And then chased down the total. Thus, their record at the 'Gabba remains fantastic. Unbeaten at this venue since 1988.
Then Mitchell Johnson bowled a terrific spell to run through the Indian middle order in the second innings. Shikhar Dhawan scored some runs though as India managed to get their lead past 100. The Australians came out to chase 128, it was never going to be that tough but India gave some hope. Chris Rogers guided things while Smith and Shaun Marsh chipped in with some runs too.
Steven Smith starts off his Test captaincy with a victory against India! The match was evenly poised on day 3 where India were trying to press on the advantage. Then Rohit Sharma sledged Mitchell Johnson and that completely changed the course of the match. The Australian lower order went on to score almost 200 runs and got a good lead of 97.
FOUR! AUSTRALIA WIN BY 4 WICKETS! Fuller length ball outside off, Marsh drives it past the mid off region and the ball races away to the fence. Winning runs. Marsh hugs Johnson and the Australian dressing room celebrate. AUSTRALIA LEAD THE SERIES 2-0!
Shortish on middle, Marsh pulls it to deep square leg for a single.
Short of a length ball on middle, Johnson pulls it towards mid-wicket and takes an easy single.
Good length ball outside off, Marsh guides it to third man region for a single. When you're defending just five runs not sure you'd keep a fielder in the deep.
