12:39 (IST): Stumps! Umpires have called off the day due to bad light. Australia 221/4, trail India by 187 runs. Steve Smith remained not out on 65 and Mitchell Marsh batting on 7. Chris Rogers scored 55 but didn't looked impressive in his approach. Umesh Yadav bagged three wickets, two came from non wicket-taking deliveries.

12:10 (IST): WICKET! Shaun Marsh gone and Ajinkya Rahane will take a sigh of relief. His drop catch will not hurt India much because he was out on the same score (32). Umesh Yadav gets the breakthrough and this time it was indeed a wicket-taking delivery. Marsh edged to first slip and Ashwin timed his jump to perfection to complete the catch. India Outplayed us, Says Aussie Coach Darren Lehmann
Australian coach Darren Lehmann rued injuries to his fast bowlers but admitted that his team was outplayed by India on Day One of the second Test at the Gabba here on Wednesday. India reached 311 for four at stumps riding on Murali Vijay's 144. The Indian right-handed opener was brilliant as he stroked his fifth Test career ton to put India on top. Injuries suffered by the Australian bowlers also didn't help the hosts.
Brisbane Heat Made Conditions Worse Than Mumbai, Chennai: Ajinkya Rahane
The excruciating heat in Brisbane on the first day of the second Test between Australia and India made conditions far worse than in Mumbai and Chennai, Ajinkya Rahane said after his unbeaten 75 steered the visitors to 311/4 at stumps. "The heat was worse than Mumbai or Chennai and it was challenging to concentrate," said Rahane, who has played all his life in the hot and humid conditions of Mumbai.
