Australia reclaimed the Ashes by whitewashing England 5-0 after a 281-run win in the fifth Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday. During the course of their series clean sweep, the hosts recorded a number of statistical highs, few of which are:
# Australia became the first team in the annals of Test cricket to record 300 hundreds by its batsmen against a specific opposition. It also became the first team to have it's opening batsmen scoring 100 hundreds against a particular team.
# Both these feats were achieved by Australia in the final Test at Sydney. Steven Smith's 115 in Australia's first innings represents its 300th hundred against England while Chris Rogers's 119 in Australia's second innings represents the 100th ton by its opening batsmen against the same opposition.
