Virat Kohli's stature as a player grew enormously during the 2016 World T20. He smashed 273 runs in five games, including three fifties, as India reached the semi-finals. His exploits could not help India reach the final as they lost to West Indies in a high-scoring semi-final at the Wankhede stadium. (Virat Kohli's Golden Twenty20 Run Ends)
Despite the loss, India's fans reacted positively to the team's performance. Kohli said thank you to his fans on his Instagram and Twitter accounts.
"We win some we lose some, but memories are something we take ahead with us, we move ahead learning from our mistakes and improve each day. Thanks for making it a memorable tournament together my brothers. And thank you each and every one of you people out there for supporting us relentlessly everyday of the tournament. It was electrifying to experience your joys and happiness and energies throughout. We come out stronger and better next time," Kohli posted.

Kohli's attention will now turn to the Indian Premier League where he will be captaining Royal Challengers Bangalore. The team, that has failed to win in the last 10 editions of the tournament, will be aiming to break the jinx this time around. With Kohli in magnificent form, the time could be now.
