Tuesday's 47-run loss to New Zealand has hurt India's chances of the winning the T20 World Cup. In less than 24 hours, India's chances have plummeted from 32 per cent to 21, according to the latest odds.
While India are still favourites to win the championship, South Africa and Australia have become title contenders. Both South Africa and Australia, who are yet to play, are at 17 per cent each, marginally behind Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Team India.
New Zealand, considered a dark horse, have risen to 13 per cent while England are at 12 per cent. England play the West Indies in Mumbai on Wednesday.
In Kolkata on Saturday, India play Pakistan in a crucial group 2 match of the Super-10 stage. Pakistan have never beaten India in a World Cup match but after their emphatic 55-run win against Bangladesh, Shahid Afridi's team will have their tails up.
According to the odds before the tournament, India (68 per cent) are favoured to beat Pakistan (32 per cent). This equation is surely going to change.
