Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton has been blasted by fans for posting holiday pictures in which he is in his skiing gear, on the web. Several surfers said it was 'insensitive' as F1 legend Michael Schumacher is currently fighting for his life after a skiing accident.
Hamilton, reports Britain's Daily Star, posted pictures of himself in a skiing gear, on his Instagram account. He even tweeted an image while snowmobiling.
This has enraged several fans. They feel the pictures show the British racer in a bad light as veteran Schumacher met with a skiing accident recently. "Very insensitive given a certain ex race driver's current condition in hospital," one user wrote on his Instagram account. "Inconsiderate, overrated d***, you'll never be a great like Schumacher," wrote another. (Also read: Family hails 'fighter' Michael Schumacher)
Not all though are gunning for Hamilton's blood. "What so you can't post pictures skiing now because of Schumacher? Why are you even following Lewis if you're such haters? Get a life," said a fan while a few others chose to simply caution him and wished him well on the snow.
The angst against 28-year-old Mercedes driver's posts though has largely stemmed from Hamilton's 'ill-timing'. Schumacher has been in a hospital in France since last Sunday after he met with a serious skiing accident - he fell while skiing and hit his head on a rock. While his condition continues to be serious, Schumacher is reported to be stable. On Friday, the retired seven-time champion turned 45 even as his fans planned to hold a silent vigil to wish him a speedy recovery. (Read more here)
