IPL 2020, DC vs RCB Highlights: Delhi Capitals Seal 2nd Spot With Six-Wicket Win, Royal Challengers Bangalore Make Playoffs
IPL 2020, Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane hit fifties as DC seal a top-two spot by beating RCB by six wickets in Abu Dhabi.
Delhi Capitals beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets to ensure a top-two finish for themselves and set up a clash against Mumbai Indians in Qualifier 1 on November 5. RCB will finish third or fourth depending the result of the match between SunRisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians on Tuesday. Both teams have, however, qualified for the playoffs. DC lost Prithvi Shaw early in their chase of 153, but Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane got the chase back on track. Dhawan hit his 40th IPL fifty to keep Delhi cruising. Shahbaz Ahmed dismissed Dhawan for 54 but Rahane got his fifty as well to keep Delhi in control. He fell in the 18th over for 60 to give RCB some hope, but Marcus Stoinis and Rishabh Pant finished off the chase with an over to spare. Earlier, DC restricted RCB to 152 for 7 after winning the toss and putting RCB in to bat. Devdutt Padikkal top scored for RCB with 50 off 41 balls, Anrich Nortje took 3/33 for DC. (SCORECARD)
IPL 2020 Match 55Â Highlights Between DCÂ vs RCB, From Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi
Rishabh Pant is at the crease. He can finish this game in three hits. But will he take that route or will he be tempted to take the game in the final over?
Udana hands this one outside off – a slower short ball wide of off stump that just sat up nicely to be hit. Rahane slaps that over extra cover for four.
DC are still going at over 8 runs per over. That's more than what they need to chase this total down. RCB need wickets in a heap to make a comeback in this game.
Isuru Udana is into the attack and angles this ball across the right-handed Rahane. The ball is short and allows Rahane to free his arms. He cuts this ball in front of square on the off side for four.
Despite losing Shaw early, DC are off to a good start. They don't need to take many risks in the first six if they feel so as they are only chasing 153.
Morris gives Dhawan width outside off and Dhawan looks to cut it through point. He gets an outside edge that takes the ball to the right of short third man and past the boundary.
Perfect length there from Siraj and a beautiful seam position, too, to go along with it. The ball nips away from Shaw after pitching and misses the face of the bat to crash into the stumps.
WICKET! AB de Villiers run out (Rahane/Pant) 34 (21)
AB falls in an attempt to get back on strike. He tries to clear the fence on the second ball of the final over but couldn't hit it past the man at long-on. He calls Washington Sundar back for two runs but Rahane, the man in the deep, knows which end to throw the ball to. He throws it to the long end (the striker's end) and Pant whips the bails off before AB could make his ground.
