# Umesh Yadav (5/93) has recorded his best bowling figures in Tests, eclipsing the 4 for 70 against Australia at Melbourne in December 2011.
# Yadav's excellent performance of 5 for 93 is the second best by an Indian bowler at WACA, Perth - the best being 5 for 89 by Bishan Singh Bedi in 1977-78.
# Bedi remains the only Indian bowler to produce two five-wicket hauls at WACA. Manoj Prabhakar had claimed 5 wickets for 105 runs in February 1992.
# With 43 dismissals (34 catches + 9 stumpings) in 13 Tests, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has set an Indian wicketkeeping record against Australia, surpassing the 41 (29 catches + 12 stumpings) in 17 Tests by Syed Kirmani.
# Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag were involved in a stand of 24 runs for the first wicket - their highest in the series, bettering the 22 in the Melbourne Test. In six innings, the pair has totalled only 85 runs at an average of 14.16.
