The West Indies may have lost the Test series at home, 0-1 to India, but there is some reason to cheer for the hosts as Fidel Edwards jumped two places in the ICC rankings to take the 16th spot in the list of bowlers.
A haul of six wickets for the fast-bowlers from Barbados helped him move up the rankings and he now shares his spot with South Africa's Paul Harris. Edwards though is not the only player from the series who changed his fortune for the good in the rankings.
Shivnarine Chanderpaul too has risen to the seventh position in the list of batsmen and has his unbeaten knock of 116 to thank for his ascent. His knock eventually ensured that the West Indies managed to save itself blushes and draw the final Test at Roseau.
The visitors have some positives as well. Spinner Harbhajan Singh passed the 400-wickets mark as he finished th final Test with six wickets and moved a place up to take the seventh spot, overtaking teammate and man of the series Ishant Sharma. The other seamer in Praveen Kumar has managed to break into the top-50 for the first time.
