# India have lost the first three Tests of the present series - by 122 runs at MCG; by an innings & 68 runs at SCG and by an innings and 37 runs at Perth.
# The last instance when India lost three Tests or more against Australia in Australia was - five between January 25, 1992 and January 4, 2000 - by 38 runs at Adelaide; by 300 runs at Perth in January/February 1992; by 285 runs at Adelaide; by 180 runs at Melbourne and by an innings and 141 runs at Sydney in 1999-00.
# Australia have regained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. They had lost the previous two Test series to India - 2-0 in 2008-09 and 2-0 in 2010-11.
# India have maintained their record of not winning a Test series in Australia.
# Australia have won seven and drawn the remaining
three series out of ten played against India in Australia.

# Kohli's first fifty overseas is his first against Australia, surpassing the 44 in the first innings of the Perth Test.
# Kohli has recorded three fifties in Tests - 52 & 63 against the West Indies in Mumbai in November last year and 75 against Australia at Perth.
# Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli put on 84 for the fifth wicket - an Indian record at WACA Ground, obliterating the 68 between Kohli and Laxman in the first innings of the 2011-12 Test.
# India's highest fifth wicket partnership against Australia in Australia is 303 between Dravid and Laxman at Adelaide in December 2003.

# India, for the first time, has been dismissed under 200 in each innings of a Test match at WACA Ground, Perth.
