The players are out in the middle. Time for some action...
PITCH - The deck is still a good one for batting but with marks all over the pitch. It is almost a sub-continental pitch. There are a lot of rough patches on a good length area. Lyon will be key for the chase.
The news coming in is that AUSTRALIA HAVE DECLARED! So the expected has happened. India will need to score 349 runs in order to win this Test. The series is gone but India can hope to salvage some pride with a chase. Will India go for it? Let's see.
Hello everyone and welcome to the coverage of the final day of this Test series between Australia and India. The match is interestingly poised in favour of the home side with the lead being 348 runs. Australia will mostly likely declare and have a go at the Indians. The Indians don't have much to lose and might as well go for it. How they approach will be key. Stay tuned for all the action.
So Australia have a lead of 348 runs now. Will they declare overnight and let India bat the whole day? High possibility for that. The intent was clear from the Australians as they scored quick runs today. It won't be easy for India to chase that total in 90 overs but they'll have to go for it and spoil Australia's chance of finishing the series on a high. India have the batting line-up which can chase but they'll have to come out to their best. It just promises to be an exciting final day of this Test series. Do join us for that. Cheers!
What a session that was! Australia scored 213 runs off 34 overs in the final session. They kept scoring at an excellent rate and were dealing just in boundaries. Rogers provided a good start first up. The wicket was uneven but Smith came up with another solid knock, scored 71 off just 70 balls. Joe Burns played a special knock as well as he rocketed 66 runs off just 39 balls with eight fours and three sixes. India were pretty poor in their bowling department. Ashwin was the lone bowler who looked like taking wickets but even he went for runs.
Last over of the day but it's raining a bit heavily now. The umpires decide to call it off. And that will be STUMPS ON DAY 4!
Outside off, Haddin goes for the big shot but misses it completely.
Fullish outside off, Haddin goes for the sweep but gets hit on the pads.
RYAN HARRIS is the next man in. He can bat a bit as well...
