The Indian cricket team was hosted for afternoon tea by Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott on the first day of the new year, on Thursday. Even as Virat Kohli was in the spotlight, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was not seen in the photos posted on the team's official Facebook page. (Australian press suggests Dhoni may return home early)

The touring players, and their Australian counterparts attended the tea session at Kirribilli House in Sydney ahead of the final Test here which begins from January 6. Although the series has been lost by the Indians and while there has been a lot of on-field banter, players from both sides were their eloquent best as they posed for the official photo session.
Dressed in their casual Team India T-Shirts and trousers, the players soaked up the summer sun Down Under and captain Virat Kohli was the center of attraction. Interestingly though, Dhoni - who retired from Tests after the Melbourne match - was not seen in any of the photos posted. It remains unclear whether he attended the event.
