Live Score: India vs Australia updates
Okay - the big news is that AUSTRALIA HAVE DECLARED OVERNIGHT. That is not a surprising decision with so much time lost yesterday.
PITCH REPORT - Rahul Dravid reckons that the pitch is still a good one to bat upon, just a matter of batsmen hanging in there.
WEATHER - It is bright and sunny out there in the middle but accompanied with plenty of breeze.
It was a wet, wet Wednesday as only 30.4 overs were possible on Day 2. Michael Clarke and Steven Smith pounded the listless Indians to all parts as Australia raced to 517. The run-rate was rising continuously which gave signs that the hosts might declare soon, although that time never came. Will they bat for an hour to grind India, reach 600 and then declare? We shall see. Hello and a warm welcome to the third day of the opening Test between Australia and India at Adelaide.
... DAY 3, SESSION 1 ...
Indian bowlers were not able to do anything significant today. They failed to take wickets in the earlier sessions and also gave away a lot of runs. It's all upto the Indian batsmen now to do their bit with the bat and stay alive in the match. We'll be back tomorrow half an hour earlier than the usual time at 0500 IST. Do join us then, Goodbye for now!
A rain interrupted day has finally come to an end, phew! That's it for the day. Australia are 517-7 at the end of the second day! They are still at the top in the match. Three of their top six batsmen have managed to score centuries so far in the first innings.
So, there won't be any further play today. It's STUMPS on DAY 2.
Umpire has a chat with Kohli and asks him to bowl only with the spinners due to bad light. But Kohli refuses to do so and decides to walk off the field. Bad Light stops play!
