Rahane and Vijay put on 112 for the first wicket after India were put in to bat, and although the tourists could not fully capitalise on that platform, they were still able to post 271 for eight.

Murli Vijay gets the Man of the Match award. Says it was a great opportunity to prove himself and that it was a good game. Adds he was looking forward to the hundred but got out on a bad shot. Says he doesn't mind bowling whenever the team requires him. Ends saying the wicket was much better and was on the slower side.
Rahane and Vijay were brilliant with the bat, coming up with a 112-run opening partnership that set India nicely. Zimbabwe will be disappointed with their batting display as their batsmen couldn't keep going except for Chibhabha who got 72. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took four wickets and troubled the Zimbabwean batsmen. An all round performance from India to clinch the series. Ajinkya Rahane was good with the bat and was a live wire in the field. This performance should help him to solidify his place in the regular Indian side.
India have clinched the match and taken an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the series. Rahane will be happy with the commitment of his team. They played well and scored 271/8 batting first and came up with good bowling display to dismiss all 10 Zimbabwean batsmen and win by 62 runs.
