Ajinkya Rahane, who has been named captain of a second string Team India for a short limited-overs tour of Zimbabwe, said he has his own plans for the African nation and will stick to them. Rahane said he admired Mahendra Singh Dhoni's leadership skills and will try to imbibe some of his calmness in the middle. "I have my own style of captaincy and will follow my plans. I admire Dhoni's calmness and will try to learn from that," the young Mumbai batsman said in his first press conference as India captain. (Harbhajan Singh Rates ODI Comeback as Fresh Challenge)
Rahane said the shock series defeat against Bangladesh is now in the past and the focus will be on the Zimbabweans. "Our preparation has always been the same. We are looking forward to the Zimbabwe tour. We have a pretty balanced team and we will try to win."
Rahane also had a word of praise for Harbhajan Singh, who makes his ODI comeback after four years. "Bhajji has been a star performer. I am happy that he's made a comeback."
Team India was jolted four days before their first ODI against Zimbabwe, when leg-spinner Karn Sharma was ruled out with a fractured finger. The BCCI decided not to name any replacements.
