With the final ball of his first over, he got the wicket of Kaushal Silva but he was denied the wicket as he had bowled a no-ball. This has not pleased India's bowling coach Bharat Arun and he has said that Binny has learnt a big lesson today. (India in Sri Lanka: Day 2 Stat Highlights)
"Stuart bowled exceptionally well today but again, it's a big lesson for him losing a Test wicket to a no-ball. You have got to get back and work so that you don't make the same mistake again. It's a costly lesson," Arun stated.
Despite the no-ball, the rest of the Indian bowlers put up a disciplined performance and Sri Lanka managed 140/3 at stumps on the second day, trailing by 253 runs.
Speaking to the media at the end of the day, Arun said that India were targeting a lead of around 100 runs.
"We are probably looking for a lead of about 100 runs. If we get a lead of 100 runs on this track, it is beginning to wear and there were signs of spinners extracting some turn," he said.
The Indian bowling coach also added that the team decided to make the Sri Lankan batsmen work hard for their runs.
"After the Galle Test, we reworked our fields and looked at the batsmen's strengths and the areas they were really scoring at. We said we are going to plug those very areas where they are going to be looking for runs. So far it has worked well for us," he added.
