India pacer Ishant Sharma has been charged for breaching the International Cricket Council's Code of Conduct. This after he got into a verbal battle with several Sri Lankans while batting on Day 4 - Monday - of the final Test between India and Sri Lanka. (In pics: Just don't get Ishant angry!)
Apart from Ishant, Lahiru Thirimanne, Dinesh Chandimal and Dhammika Prasad were also found guilty. Ishant had primarily dueled with pacer Dhamika after he was served a flurry of bouncers.
Interestingly, Ishant was also previously fined 65% of his match fees for breaching the Code of Conduct during the second Test. The latest episode has therefore left many, including former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, upset. "Ishant showing passion is very good, but he must control himself because he is the leading bowler," Gavaskar had told NDTV from Colombo on Monday. (Full report)
