Located in Cardiff, the venue has been witness to a number of top sporting events and includes a retractable roof and seating for just under 75,000 spectators. The pitch here can be moved when not being used which is an extremely useful feature during concerts and exhibitions.
With a construction cost of close to 121 million pounds, this venue had 72 steel plate frames to support the stands while it also has about 4500 components which come together to complete the roof.
Most stadiums have certain fun facts and this one is no different. This venue has 124 hospitality suites, 7 hospitality lounges, 7 restaurants, 22 bars and 7 lifts. It also employs a hawk called 'Dad' which keeps the seagulls and pigeons out.
On July 24, three days before the Olympics officially begins, a women's soccer match will be played at the stadium. It will also host the men's bronze medal match.
