About Coventry Stadium in Rowleys Green District, Coventry
This stadium was not the first choice as an Olympic venue. In June 2010, it replaced Villa Park in Birmingham which was withdrawn in August 2009 because of uncertainty over rebuilding plans.
The Ricoh Arena will be renamed the City of Coventry Stadium because of Olympic rules on sponsorship. The venue is set to host 12 soccer matches, including the one that will decide the women's bronze medal.
This venue can host over 32,000 fans but the stadium itself is not the only highlight here. It also has a huge exhibition hall, a hotel, a shopping arena, a leisure club and a casino.
Opened officially in 2007 and was the first 'cashless' stadium in UK with spectators making use of cards for payments.
