Having turned professional in 2006, Rushmi also has the required experience to handle the any possible situation in a responsible manner.
A hard-hitting player, Rushmi's strength according to some lies in her two-handed backhand which she used to good effect. She has developed it to menacing effect over the years and having taken to the sport at an age of eight, has mastered the art of playing in both singles and doubles categories.
A wildcard entrant into the London Olympics, Rushmi will partner Sania Mirza in the women's doubles category. The dup have previously played together and managed to secure the bronze medal in the 2010 Commonwealth Games. While London Olympics will be a completely different prospect with alien conditions and tougher opponents, ruling Rushmi out completely may be a mistake many are not willing to make in the run-up to the Games.
