Residents at an apartment block in east London say they've been warned surface-to-air missiles could be stationed on their rooftops during the Olympics.
The Ministry of Defense said on Sunday it had contacted around 700 people living at the building in Bow , about 2 miles (3.2km) from London's Olympic Stadium, about the plan.
In a leaflet sent to residents, the ministry says it could place high velocity surface-to-air missiles on a water tower attached to the building's roof.
Brian Whelan, who lives at the site, said residents were wary over the plan.
Up to 13,500 British troops are being deployed on land, at sea and in the air to help protect the Olympics.
The defense ministry said the missiles would form part of air defenses alongside fast jets and helicopters.
