IPL 2021 Auction: Available Purse, Slots For Each Franchise

With 292 cricketers set to go under the hammer, the much-anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 Auction is scheduled to take place on February 18, in Chennai. Initially, a total of 1114 players had registered for the IPL 2021 Auction, with the final list being made on the basis of shortlists by the eight teams. A total of 164 Indian players will participate in the auction, joined by 125 overseas and three Associate Nations cricketers. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) enter the auction with 11 available slots, which is also the maximum among the eight franchises. Kings XI Punjab, who finished at sixth position last season, will have the biggest purse. They have an available salary cap of Rs 53.20 crore.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) will have the lowest available salary caps of Rs 10.75 crore each.

The IPL 2021 Auction will see 10 cricketers in the highest base price category of Rs 2 crore, with Harbhajan Singh and Kedar Jadhav as the only two Indians in that list. Glenn Maxwell, Shakib Al Hasan, Moeen Ali, Steve Smith, Sam Billings, Liam Plunkett, Mark Wood and Jason Roy are the eight overseas players.

The auction will begin at 3:00 PM IST, on February 18.
