Mumbai Indians (MI) won a close-fought match off the final ball of the match as they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 6 runs at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Chasing 188 runs for victory, RCB were off to a flier as openers Parthiv Patel and Moeen Ali added 27 runs for the first wicket in just 18 balls. A mix-up between Parthiv and Ali resulted in Ali getting run out for 13. Virat Kohli and Parthiv then stitched together 40 runs for the 2nd wicket before Parthiv was clean bowled by Mayank Markande for 31. His innings included 4 fours and 1 six. Kohli was then joined by AB de Villiers as RCB's two most experienced batsmen added 49 runs for the 3rd wicket. Jasprit Bumrah after being carted for boundaries by Kohli had the last laugh as he dismissed him on 46 off 32. Kohli's innings included 6 fours. RCB's middle-order batsmen Shimron Hetmyer (5) and Colin de Grandhomme (2) failed to support De Villiers as the required run rate kept soaring. However, De Villiers' pyrotechnics took the match until the final over where RCB needed 17 runs. Shivam Dube managed to hit Malinga for a six in the first ball but then went for ones as RCB needed 7 off the final ball to end the match in a tie. Dube managed just a single. However, replays showed that Malinga overstepped which went unnoticed. Earlier, Mumbai Indians scored 187/8 in 20 overs after being put to bat. (SCORECARD)

- 00:04 (IST)Kohli fuming!"We are playing at the IPL level and not playing club cricket. The umpires should have had their eyes open. That is a ridiculous call at the last ball. If it is a game of margins, I don't know what is happening. They should have been more sharp and careful out there," Virat Kohli said after the match.
