One of the best batsmen of the modern era, Ricky Ponting was part of the victorious Mumbai Indians side that lifted the Indian Premier League Trophy and led the team in the first few outings last season before handing over the reins to current captain Rohit Sharma.

Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting has joined Indian Premier League (IPL) outfit Mumbai Indians in an advisory role. (Full IPL coverage)

One of the best batsmen of the modern era, Ponting was part of the victorious Mumbai Indians side that lifted the IPL Trophy and led the team in the first few outings last season before handing over the reins to current captain Rohit Sharma. (Fixtures)

The Tasmanian will be with the team for the last two matches of the UAE-leg. (How Mumbai lost to Delhi)
