Mashrafe Bin Mortaza's side was ruled to be one over short of its target when time allowances were taken into consideration. India won a nail-biting contest in the last-ball of the match to keep their semifinal hopes alive.
According to ICC's Code of Conduct, Bangladesh players will be fined 10 per cent of their match fees for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time, with the captain (Mortaza) fined double that amount. (World T20: Mahendera Singh Dhoni Reveals He Asked Hardik Pandya Not to go for Yorkers)
If Mortaza is found guilty of one more minor over-rate offence during the ICC World Twenty20 India 2016 while acting as captain, he will receive a one-match suspension during the event.
Mashrafe pleaded guilty to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction.
