West Indies ace spinner Sunil Narine is likely to withdraw from the upcoming ICC World Cup in Australia and New Zealand starting on February 14, according to media reports. It is believed that Narine's decision has to do with continuous work on his bowling action.
The 26-year-old off-spinner was reported for a suspect action while playing for the Indian Premier League giants Kolkata Knight Riders during the Champions League T20 (CLT20) in September last year. He was later suspended from participation in BCCI organised tournaments.
As a result, he was withdrawn from the ill-fated tour of India. Narine also missed West Indies' tour of South Africa.
He was included in the West Indies 15-man squad led by Jason Holder for the World Cup. Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo were left out for the quadrennial tournament.
