World Cup: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Congratulates Team India for Reaching Semis
India crushed Bangladesh by 109 runs to advance to the semi-finals of the World Cup. They will meet the winner of the Australia vs Pakistan quarter-final.

President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated the Indian cricket team for its 109-run victory over Bangladesh in the second World Cup quarter-final in Melbourne. (Highlights | Scorecard | Pics)
With this victory, defending champions India entered the semi-final of the tournament. They will meet the winner of the Australia vs Pakistan quarter-final. (Team India's Road to World Cup)
"Congratulations Team India on the win against Bangladesh; sportsmanship of both teams commendable," the president tweeted.
"Excellent game, excellent performance! Congrats yet again Team India," posted Modi.

The Bangladeshi batsmen proved no match for the Indian bowlers who skittled out the youngest Test-playing nation for 193 runs in 45 overs. This is India's seventh straight win in the quadrennial tournament.
Sports minister Sarbananda Sonowal also congratulated the side led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
