Suresh Raina slammed a century while Ravindra Jadeja claimed four wickets to help India to a comprehensive win against England at Cardiff. Here are the highlights (SCORECARD)
22:38 (IST): Many experts said that India in Tests and the team in ODIs are two different forces. While the jury is out on that , Dhoni's men displayed fantastic cricket today to script a memorable win. "ODI is a great format to come back into form. Players have the freedom to express themselves on the field," said the Indian skipper at the post-match presentation. (Read more here | Match in pics)

21:48 (IST): It is raining once again here.
21:37 (IST): OUT! Buttler is India's fifth victim. Bhuvneshwar Kumar rattles the stumps once again. England: 85/5 after 22.2 overs.

- Graeme Swann (@Swannyg66) August 27, 2014

15:04 (IST): Anderson bowls a maiden over to start things up in this 2nd ODI. No signs of rain for now. IND 0/0 (1 over).
15:01 (IST): Anderson to Rohit Sharma. That is a good start from both, bowler and batsman. The outswinger first up, landed right on the money, around off, Rohit covers the swing nicely and pushes the ball to covers. Ind 0/0 (0.1 overs)
15:00 (IST): JAMES ANDERSON to start off proceedings. Rohit Sharma to face him. Here we go...

14:42 (IST): India stick to their trusted playing combination. No place for Umesh Yadav. Shami and Bhuvneshwar get a game and so does Mohit Sharma. Ajinkya Rahane, Raina will bolster middle order. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan will open.
14:34 (IST): Toss: England win toss and will bowl first. Alex Hales will make debut. James Tredwell preferred over Moeen Ali.

Neither Duncan Fletcher nor Ravi Shastri will walk out to toss at the Swalec Stadium on Wednesday. Spotlight will be on Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his young team to show that only good cricket establishes a team's credentials and nothing else matters. Winning is a habit. Winning breeds good spirit. Winning drives the mind. The odds are clearly stacked against the Indians.
India have never won a bilateral ODI series against England since 1990. In 2011, Dhoni suffered the ultimate humiliation of losing both the Test and ODI series by heavy margins. In what probably is his last series as captain in England, Dhoni will be keen to better that ignominy. He has the personnel with necessary skillsets. Only execution is needed. A victory in England will be the perfect silver lining to Dhoni's ODI captaincy record.
India have mixed memories of Cardiff. Shikhar Dhawan hit a century as India made a winning start at Swalec on June 6, 2013 to beat South Africa by 26 runs in their ICC Champions Trophy opener. En route to winning a rain-hit final against England at Birmingham, India thrashed Sri Lanka by eight wickets in the semifinals at Cardiff. Dhawan scored 68 and Ishant Sharma took 3 for 33.
When India and England clashed in 2011, Virat Kohli hit a century but his thunder was stolen by Jonny Bairstow's debut innings of 41 off 21 balls that helped secure England a Duckworth-Lewis victory. On Wednesday, there is forecast for rain.

With the ICC World Cup 2015 only months away, both India and England will use this series to work out their best combinations. Dhawan and Rohit Sharma will look to regain their form and it remains to be seen if Suresh Raina can justify his captain's faith in him. There are a bunch of untested lads like Karn Sharma and Sanju Samson. It is unlikely that Dhoni will be keen to tamper with a tested combination.
England look confident after the Test series win. In the post-Kevin Pietersen era, England are also rebuilding. The critics have their claws out. Is Cook wasting a batting slot? Does England need an opener who can score more rapidly? Cook is surely under pressure.
There is a lot of talk going around. It's time the cricket started.
