The entry into limited overs domestic cricket came the following year when he faced Punjab as a part of the North Zone squad and had figures of 0/37 from 7 overs.
He was one of five uncapped bowlers signed up by the Chennai Super Kings for the 2013 season. Mohit got his chance in the yellow jersey when he played against Royal Challengers Bangalore. In a match where Bangalore scored at 8 runs per over, he went for just 13 runs from his two overs.
His big moment came in his second match for Chennai against Delhi on Thursday as he would take 3 top order wickets namely David Warner, Manprit Juneja and Virender Sehwag, which played a crucial role in the Super Kings' win over the Daredevils in their own backyard, Kotla.
