No Sachin Tendulkar in South Africa makes life easier: Russell Domingo

After two comprehensive victories in the first two ODIs against India, South Africa coach Russell Domingo said it will be easier for the home team to plan against India in the upcoming two-Test series as the visitors lack the calming influence of Sachin Tendulkar in their dressing room.

Tendulkar, who retired from international cricket last month was very successful during India's last tour of South Africa in 2010-11 where he scored two centuries in three Test matches.

"He was a big player for them and was a calming influence in the dressing room. It will be great not having to get Sachin Tendulkar out," Domingo was quoted as saying.

Domingo also added that the South African pacers would exploit India's weakness against short-pitched fast bowling. (Gavaskar slams bowlers for Team India debacle)

"In the one-day series we wanted to put doubt in their minds in terms of the way they play pace. They have always had issues playing fast bowling in South Africa and that is what history shows." Domingo said. (Related: Domingo to stick to seven batsmen policy)

"It (pace) is South Africa's strength. It is the way that we were brought up playing cricket. Sub-continent sides will always turn to spin as an attacking option and South Africans will turn to pace because that is in our DNA," he added.
