CLT20: Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid given guard of honour in final

Rajasthan Royals skipper Rahul Dravid and Mumbai Indians' Sachin Tendulkar, playing their last Twenty20 matches, were given a guard of honour by their team-mates during the Champions League Twenty20 final at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi on Sunday.

The current IPL champions came out the ultimate CLT20 winners after beating the Royals by 33 runs. Chasing a huge 203 for a win, Dravid's side were bowled out for 169 and Mumbai secured the double of winning the IPL and CLT20 in the same year. (Match highlights)  

Rajasthan players offered the ceremonial salute to their skipper Dravid as they entered the field after electing to field while Tendulkar was given the guard of honour after being bowled by Shane Watson for 15. (See match pics)

Dravid walked onto the ground for the final time and thanked all his teammates for the gesture. The entire Mumbai Indians' dugout came onto the ground to escort him back to the pavilion.

Tendulkar also got the standing ovation from the crowd while walking back to the pavilion as he took off his helmet, raised his bat and acknowledged the cheers of the packed 45,000-capacity stadium.

Tendulkar's final T20 act and Dravid's last hurrah in competitive cricket were the talking points at the Kotla as the two legends got together, albeit for different teams, one last time during the final of the Champions League Twenty20 which the Mumbai Indians won by a comfortable margin of 33 runs.

Tendulkar and Dravid had, both, announced earlier that this would be their final Twenty20 season.

The 40-year-old Dravid had retired from international cricket at the beginning of 2012 while Tendulkar, who retired from One-Day International cricket last December, is in the twilight of his Test career.

Having already bowed out as highest run-scorer in the ODI format, today saw Tendulkar calling it quits from the shotest format of cricket.
