Fans of Indian Premier League can breathe easy with the weatherman predicting a 'partly cloudy sky' and a rain-free day Tuesday, when the cash-rich tournament begins with a gala opening programme at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.
According to an official of the regional meteorological department in Alipore here, there was no rain forecast.
"Maximum and minimum temperature will be 36 and 26 degree Celsius, respectively. The sky will be partly cloudy whereas rainfall is zero," the official told IANS.
The respite comes in the wake of scattered spells of rain since March-end that had been a cause of concern among IPL buffs eagerly awaiting the opening event. But on the downside, both maximum and minimum levels of humidity will soar to 90 per cent and 42 per cent, respectively.
