IPL 6: Adam Gilchrist wants Kings XI batsmen to pull up their socks

Rajasthan Royals skipper Rahul Dravid credited the allround team effort for their 6-wicket win over Kings XI Punjab in Jaipur on Sunday.

"It was pretty nervous in the end. But Ajinkya Rahane and the young kid Sanju Samson played really well, showed a lot of composure. We should have finished the match before the last over," said Dravid.

Dravid also heaped praise on the Australian pacer James Faulkner, who bagged two wickets and effected one run out. "Faulkner has been exceptional for us, he brings in a lot of energy in the group," Dravid added.

On the other hand, Punjab captain Adam Gilchrist rued his side's batting failure but backed his bowlers at the same time.

"We have been bowled out twice now, and it isn't acceptable. It starts at the top, with me. Then in the first few overs, we gave Shane Watson enough to hit, but we can't blame the bowlers because we didn't give them a good total to defend. But they fought hard," Gilchrist said.

James Faulkner was adjudged Man of the Match for his exploits on the field. The 22-year-old thanked Rajasthan Royals for the opportunity.

"I am very grateful to Rajasthan for the opportunity. Good group of people and I am very happy to be here. This wicket was very different from the one in Pune, not many slower balls here as there was some pace on the wicket," Faulkner said.

Ajinkya Rahane, who remained unbeaten on 34, said he wanted to bat through the innings to guide Royals to a much-needed win.

"I was struggling initially but I wanted to stay there till the 20th over," said Rahane. "Praveen Kumar and Ryan Harris took advantage of the seaming conditions. This was a must-win game for us, so we are happy to get a victory," Rahane concluded.
