Heavy rains here forced Mumbai Indians to split points with Cape Cobras after Harbhajan Singh's side posted a dauting target of 176 in the alotted 20 overs.
Cape Cobars's bowlers came under severe thrashing after skipper Justin Kemp chose to take the field. Light showers had already threatened to cause a delay but what caused forced the match to prolong was some heavy hitting by Sarul Kanwar and his partner Aiden Blizzard.
Cobras looked to script a comeback once Robin Peterson got the break-through but Keiron Pollard had other ideas. He smashed 58 runs from 38 balls to help his side to a challenging total.
The second innings could never begun however. Rains which had started towards the end of the 1st innings kept falling and the match had to be called off eventually. Mumbai now have five points from three matches and lead Group A standings while Cobras are second with three points from as many matches.
