Jasprit Bumrah to Replace Injured Mohammed Shami in India's Twenty20 Squad Ahead of Australia Series
Gujarat's Jasprit Bumrah will replace Mohammed Shami in the Twenty20 squad ahead of India's three-match series against Australia.

Jasprit Bumrah has been called up to the Indian squad for the three Twenty20 internationals against Australia starting on January 26. The Gujarat fast bowler will replace the injured Mohammed Shami, who missed the Australia series due to a hamstring injury. (Mohammed Shami Ruled Out of Australia Tour)
The BCCI said in a release that Bumrah will leave for Australia on January 22 along with other T20I team members - Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra, Suresh Raina and Hardik Pandya.
Bumrah has been in fine form in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, taking 14 wickets in nine games at an average of 15.42 and an economy rate of 6.23. He has been a regular feature for two-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians'>Mumbai Indians.
Bumrah was also one of the key factors in Gujarat's success in the 2015/16 Vijay Hazare Trophy. In the final against Delhi, he picked up 5/28 to give Gujarat victory by 139 runs and their maiden Vijay Hazare Trophy. In nine games, he took 21 wickets in nine games at an average of 16.09 at an economy rate of 4.02. Even in the Ranji Trophy, he has been the most consistent performer for his team, taking 21 wickets at an average of 25.67.
