Asian Games: Uttar Pradesh Government Announces Cash Awards for Seema Punia, Narsingh Pancham Yadav
A cash award of Rs 50 lakh was announced for Seema Punia, who bagged a gold medal in discus throw. Narsingh Pancham Yadav will get Rs 15 lakh for winning bronze in wrestling.

The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday announced cash awards for Asian Games medalists Seema Punia and Narsingh Pancham Yadav. (Day 11 Blog | Medal Tally)
Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav announced a cash award of Rs 50 lakh to Punia, who bagged a gold medal in discus throw with her personal best of 61.03 metres, an official spokesman said here. (Also Read: Sarita Devi Loses Controversial Boxing Bout)
A cash award of Rs 15 lakh was also announced for Narsingh Yadav, who won bronze in men's 74 kg freestyle wrestling in the Asian Games. (Read: Indian Women's Team Storms Into Kabaddi Semis)
While Yadav's village is near Varanasi in eastern UP, Punia is a native of Haryana but her in-laws belong to Sakori village in Meerut district.
