We can take confidence from the last two series here, they are a quality team and can surprise anyone, need to play with intensity. This series will see the start of the Kohli-Anil Kumble era. If Kohli's team is looking for inspiration, there can't be a better man than Kumble, India's warrior prince in the Caribbean during his heydays.
For West Indies, this will be testing times too. Plagued by payment disputes, West Indies will be without several top stars who won them the ICC World T20 earlier this year.
While the likes of Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell will be busy playing the Caribbean Premier League, Jason Holder will be a leading virtually a new-look side short on international experience. West Indies Player of the Year Marlon Samuels and Darren Bravo will have to shoulder a lot of responsibility.
India, of course, are more settled. Kohli is expected to back his experienced players more than the young Turks who have impressed during the two warm-up matches that ended in draws.

West Indies have long lost their famous pace and bounce in their wickets. There are reports that the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua will have grass on the pitch. India will not be worried as they have a good pool of bowlers to choose from.

This series will be a test for Kohli. He doesn't have happy memories of the Caribbean. He was a failure when he last played in 2011. As a captain who leads from the front, Kohli's success will surely translate into glory for Team India.
