Rakhi Haldar, Kavita Devi Win Gold at National Weightlifting Championship
Rakhi Haldar won the gold medal in the 69kg category while Kavita Devi clinched the top position in the 75kg category at the National Weightlifting Championship

Rakhi lifted 94kg in the snatch and 119kg in clean and jerk to come up with a total lift of 213kg in Women's 69kg to win the gold medal.
Lalchhanhimi bagged the silver with a total lift of 210kg (92+118), while Rajwant Kaur finished with a bronze with an overall effort of 201kg (91+110).
In Women's 75kg, Kavita Devi lifted 95kg in snatch and 122kg in clean and jerk for a total of 217kg to clinch the yellow metal.
Sushila Panwar and Daljit Kaur claimed the second and third positions with lifts of 213kg (98+115) and 198kg (89+109), respectively.
Meanwhile, V A Christopher won the gold medal in Men's 105kg with an overall lift of 329kg (145+184), while Laljit Singh accumulated 317kg (141+176) to settle for silver. Rashpal Singh, who also came up with a total lift of 317kg (135+182), had to be satisfied with a bronze.
