With a massive 331-run lead and with 3 days to go in the Test match, Warner and Rogers started cautiously and put up a 113-run opening stand. England finished off the Test match on the 3rd day and now take an unbeatable 3-1 lead.
England in their first innings lost their top 3 batsmen under 100 runs on the board to some brilliant bowling from Starc but a 173-run partnership between Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow took the game away from the visitors. All in all 13 wickets fell on the first day itself. Moeen Ali and Stuart Broad played some innovative shots to put up 58 quick runs for the 9th wicket as Captain Cook declared on 391/9.
Massive win for England and they regain the Ashes in style. All they took were 62 balls in today's day to wind up the last three Aussie wickets and finish off the match in just over two days. Australia started off the match on the back foot, put in to bat first by Cook, as all they could manage were 60 in the first innings. Stuart Broad took a career best of 8/15 which was a class act.
OUT! That's it. England have folded the Aussie innings and win by an innings and 78 runs to regain the Ashes. That was on a good length outside off, Lyon goes to play it but decides to get his bat out at the last moment, the ball hits the inside edge of the bat at its toe end and rocks onto the stumps. Australia shattered.
FOUR! Length delivery on leg, flicked away by Lyon towards fine leg for a boundary.
