Melbourne:
Marcos Baghdatis mangling four racquets in an extraordinary fit of rage has been one of the most memorable moments of the Australian Open's first week and now the hunt is on for the busted bats.
Officials have been "inundated" with requests for the broken racquets by organisations keen to sell them for charity, according to the Herald Sun.
The newspaper said the racquets normally cost AU$179 (US$186) plus another AU$32 to be strung. Baghdatis was fined $1,250 for smashing up four racquets in quick succession, in an incident which quickly went viral on the Internet.
