Love spurs Ana
Glamour girl Ana Ivanovic has an added incentive to make further progress at the Australian Open - golf-star boyfriend Adam Scott will stick around for as long as she stays in the tournament. When asked if Scott, who plays on the US PGA Tour, would stay in Melbourne, the former world number one said: "Yeah, that's the deal. I really hope I can go far and spend another week here. That would be fun to compete next Saturday." Ivanovic next faces world number two Petra Kvitova.
Azarenka does the Dougie
World number three Victoria Azarenka has revealed she was given dancing tips from loose-limbed Frenchman Gael Monfils when they were playing an exhibition together. "He was dancing all the time," she said. "We had a few parties. He was dancing. Put on an iPod and he was dancing. He was teaching me a few moves, like a Dougie and the Jerk and other things, like freestyle. But, I mean, some stuff I have no idea how to do it, and I will never be able to do. But I'm getting better."
Girl talk for Tomic
While Bernard Tomic has dominated Australian coverage, all cameras have been on his blonde girlfriend and his little sister, Sara Tomic, in the players' box. And Sara, who played in the juniors' competition on Sunday, revealed conversation often centred on Bernard's quirky style of play. "Oh, we always talk about the silly dropshots that he did sometimes," she said. "But that's the way he plays his game and what's the difference between us." Sara, who was beaten by America's Christina Makarova, admitted she had lofty ambitions to "play Serena, to play Sharapova, to play all the big players" and even reach world number one.
