World's tallest woman basketball player dies
The world's tallest woman basketball player - Malgorzata "Margo" Dydek - died in Brisbane on Wednesday. The Polish centre who figured prominently in the American Women's National Basketball Association in 1998 had suffered a heart attack on May 19.

The world's tallest woman basketball player - Malgorzata "Margo" Dydek - died in Brisbane on Wednesday. The Polish centre who figured prominently in the American Women's National Basketball Association in 1998 had suffered a heart attack on May 19.
The 7 feet 2 inch Dydek who was pregnent with her third child was put into an induced coma after the heart attack. According to reports in the local Australian press, the baby did not survive.
Coach of a local team in Queensland - Northside Wizards - Dydek was popular with her players and fans but the Sydney Morning Herald said that no one from the team management was willing to comment. The website of the Wizards though posted a tribute saying that Large Marge, as she was affectionately called, had passed away peacefully and surrounded by family members.
According to the same report, Dydek who weighed 100.3 kilograms with a wingspan of 2.1 meters was fluent in five languages and was born to Polish parents both of whom were over 1.8 meters tall. She is survived by her husband and two sons.
