Sports Ministry rewards Bindra for Doha medal
Ace marksman Abhinav Bindra was on Wednesday, handed a cash award of Rs 5.33 lakh by sports minister Ajay Maken, for his splendid performance at the Asian Shooting Championship in Doha.

Ace marksman Abhinav Bindra was on Wednesday, handed a cash award of Rs 5.33 lakh by sports minister Ajay Maken, for his splendid performance at the Asian Shooting Championship in Doha.
Bindra received Rs 4 lakh for winning gold in the 10-metre air rifle while he won an additional Rs 1.33 lakh for winning a silver in the team event. The other team members were Gagan Narang and Satyendra Singh who are still competing at the Doha meet.
Bindra's gold-winning effort at Doha was his first in any kind of Asian competition. He had defeated Zhu Qinan to win the gold.
