Sports Organisations Must Clean up to Protect Credibility: Thomas Bach

International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach said sports organisations must do more than ever in 2016 to protect their credibility after a year of corruption and doping scandals that tarnished the Olympic movement. Bach said "one just needs to look at the events over the last 12 months to realise this message is even more urgent today to safeguard the credibility of sports organisations and to protect clean athletes". (IOC President Thomas Bach Promises Severe Action Against Guilty in Doping Scam)
He was referring to the corruption scandal that has enveloped FIFA and the allegations of bribery and cover-ups involving the IAAF and Russia's track and field programme.
"Recent developments in some sports cast a shadow across the whole world of sport," said Bach.
